The new product has been engineered to meet future EV charging demands, marking a significant advancement in Circontrol’s portfolio
Additionally, the manufacturer showcases significant product updates to meet AFIR regulations, along with newly certified chargers for the German market
Munich, 2025 May 8th – Circontrol, the leading EV charging solutions manufacturer, showcases significant innovations at the Power2Drive exhibition in Munich. The company introduces its new HPC charger, the Sonic One, worldwide. This launch marks Circontrol’s introduction of a completely new product line featuring advanced technology and functionality, designed to meet both current and future EV charging demands. This new charger represents a real step forward in Circontrol’s Catalogue.
Additionally, the Spanish manufacturer presents important updates to comply with AFIR requirements. Circontrol showcases the latest evolution of its bestselling AC EV charging stations, eVolve Smart and eNext Park. Both chargers now include a new screen for dynamic QR codes to meet AFIR compliance standards. Finally, the company showcases its recently obtained German Eichrecht Calibration Law certification for its Raption Series DC charging stations.
Sonic One: Scalability, Granularity and advanced technology
The new Sonic One delivers power output ranging from 320 to 400 kW, and it can charge at 500 A in Boost mode when charging one vehicle, regardless of the EV’s voltage. In addition, it offers an efficient, accurate and dynamic power sharing between two outlets.
Circontrol’s new charging station is designed to meet the diverse needs of charging infrastructure owners, with a special focus on withstanding intensive use, due to high-traffic areas. It supports multiple authentication methods: Autocharge, contactless payment terminal, RFID, mobile app, QR code, and keyboard.
Sonic One: User experience and space optimisation
Like the rest of its portfolio, Circontrol has designed the Sonic One with user-friendliness in mind. It features a cable management system with an integrated self-retracting swing arm. All interactive elements—including the 32-inch touchscreen—are positioned at an easily accessible height. The touchscreen offers an intuitive interface and can display pictures and video advertisements for promotional purposes.
Thanks to its architecture, the new Circontrol’s HPC charger allows its installation next to a wall or back-to-back with another charging station, optimising the available space. In addition, the holders can be positioned at the front or side, depending on the charging hub layout.
Circontrol’s novelties beyond Sonic One
In addition to the new Sonic One, the Spanish manufacturer presents a wide range of novelties at Power2Drive. Starting on its latest evolution of the AC charging station for public environments, eVolve Smart. This new update now offers a new 7-inch colour screen with two buttons for enhanced user interaction, the possibility of balancing the power for up to six chargers, and an easier installation thanks to its daisy chain Ethernet connectivity. Of course, it continues to offer a robust platform with its IP55 and IK10 aluminium structure.
To meet AFIR regulation, the wall-mounted charging station eNext Park, which features up to 22 kW per plug, now also includes a 5-inch screen. On the other hand, the Raption Compact 80, 160 and 240 are now certified for the German market, increasing Circontrol’s offer in such an important market and showing Circontrol’s ability to adapt its products to the requirements of several markets and countries.
Concerning the residential EV charging, Circontrol has updated the App of eHome 5. Now it can work without an internet connection, allowing the user to authenticate, monitor the charge and schedule or choose between the 3 different charging modes in any situation. This update is especially useful for underground parking spaces.
Circontrol continues to enhance the future‑readiness of its EV charging portfolio with the introduction of a new retrofit kit for eVolve Gen4 chargers, enabling compliance with ISO 15118‑2 (hardware ready) and preparing the platform for ISO 15118‑20 via a future software update. Available now, this retrofit kit allows existing eVolve Gen4 installations to evolve towards next‑generation communication standards without […]
