Circontrol joins the Cluster of Automotive Industry of Catalonia (CIAC)

Circontrol will be part of a task group about emobility that will present a strategic study in 2019

Circontrol has joined the Cluster of Automotive Industry of Catalonia (CIAC), a non-profit association that brings together companies working in the automotive sector with headquarters in Catalunya and activity in R+D+i. This Cluster was founded on April 24th 2013 and already has 190 company members. This turns it into an active and influential economic actor with different committees and working groups. Antoni Maria Grau, Circontrol’s Director of Corporate Development, explains how Circontrol’s bet on electric vehicle has been the key issue that motivated them to join CIAC: “Until now, due to our origins and relationship with Circutor we have always felt part of electric sector. With EV charging equipments and the rising of this sector, we have begun to recognize ourselves as a company of the automotive sector”.

And the fact is that the expansion of electric vehicle has been very important for Circontrol but will be even more important for the future of mobility, that’s the reason why CIAC has created a task group focused on electric mobility. “The work dynamics of CIAC is especially interesting for Circontrol, because a task group about emobility has been created and its finishing a strategic study that will be presented at the beginning of 2019 in which we will make our contribution”, explains Antoni Maria Grau.

CIAC’s main goal is to reinforce automotive sector competitivity of the automotive sector as a driving force of Catalan economy through the impulse of projects that help to generate employment and position the Catalan industry within the global context. The two car manufacturers present in Catalonia, NISSAN and SEAT, are two of the founding members. The three others founding members are GESTAMP, FICOSA and DOGA. It currently has 200 company members that employ more than 40.000 people and aims to represent the almost 500 companies that, directly or indirectly, work in this sector in Catalunya.
