The vast majority of charging points in Barcelona Serveis Municipals (BSM)’s public network are Circontrol products.
The collaboration between Circontrol and Barcelona Serveis Municipals (BSM) began in 2011, when hardly anyone was talking about electric mobility. Today, thirteen years later, the public network ‘Barcelona Endolla’ has inaugurated its one-thousandth charging point, a milestone that has been possible, in part, due to the close collaboration between the Barcelona BSM team and Circontrol.
Today’s event, which was attended by Joan Hinojo, the general director of Circontrol, took place in the BSM Mercat de Sant Antoni car park. The mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, and the CEO of Cupra and Seat, Wayne Griffith, also attended. During his speech, Collboni assured that the public network will triple the power of the electric vehicle charging points located on the public roads, reaching up to 160 kW. In addition, he announced that by 2025, Barcelona will install 2,000 charging points. “They will be more powerful and faster,” he assured.
Joan Hinojo: “BSM and Circontrol were pioneers; together, we have built a strategic partnership”.
At present, ‘Barcelona Endolla’ extends to all city neighborhoods and boasts 3,300 active users, with an average of 14,000 monthly charges. The city ranks among the top five European cities in terms of the number of charging points.
